چکیده

We have investigated the kinetic temperatures assumed by Waters et al. (1987) for the circumstellar envelopes of a group of Be stars. Waters (1986) introduced a simple equatorial disk model with (r) / r ?n to describe the physical characteristics of Be star disks. Since this equatorial disk model was applied to a large number of stars, it is important to ensure that the kinetic temperatures assumed by Waters et al. were reasonable. We have investigated their choice of kinetic temperature in two ways. Initially we tested the appropriateness of the temperatures assumed by evaluating the rates of energy gain and loss. Then, based on equating the rates of energy gain and loss, we determined self-consistently the temperature structure for these envelopes. Our investigation included the stars; Cas, Cen, Per, and CMi. For each of the stars examined we discovered that the constant temperature of the envelope assumed by Waters et al. was too high by a factor of 2 to 3.

Rates of Energy Gain and Loss in the Circumstellar Envelopes of Be Stars: Diiuse Radiation

We have determined an upper limit to the kinetic temperature of the gas in the circumstellar envelopes of 2 Be stars, a hot star Cas, and a cooler star 1 Del, by including in an approximate manner the diiuse radiation produced in the envelope. We computed the temperature as a function of position by balancing at each position the rates of energy gain and energy loss. Photoionization, collisiona...

Rates of Energy Gain and Loss in the Circumstellar Envelopes of Be Stars: 1 Delphini

We have investigated the rates of energy gain and loss in the circum-stellar envelope of the cool B8-9e star, 1 Delphini , using the Poeckert-Marlborough model. We determined iteratively the kinetic temperature of the gas as a function of position in the circumstellar envelope by adjusting the temperature at each grid point until the rates of energy gain and loss there were equal. The gas was a...

Green envelopes classification: the comparative analysis of efficient factors on the thermal and energy performance of green envelopes

This paper classifies green envelopes as green roofs and green walls according to effective factors, which were derived from literature to compare the green envelopes’ thermal and energy performance in a more effective way. For this purpose, an extensive literature review was carried out by searching keywords in databases and studying related journal papers and articles. The research meth...

Circumstellar molecular line emission from S-type AGB stars: Mass-loss rates and SiO abundances

Aims. The main aim is to derive reliable mass-loss rates and circumstellar SiO abundances for a sample of 40 S-type AGB stars based on new multi-transitional CO and SiO radio line observations. In addition, the results are compared to previous results for M-type AGB stars and carbon stars to look for trends with chemical type. Methods. The circumstellar envelopes are assumed to be spherically s...

We present new Keck images at 0.9 µm and OVRO 1.3 mm continuum images of five Class I protostars in the Taurus star forming region. We analyze these data in conjunction with broadband spectral energy distributions and 8-13 µm spectra from the literature using a Monte Carlo radiative transfer code. By fitting models for the circumstellar dust distributions simultaneously to the scattered light i...
